Mealey is a freelance writer and mother to four children between the ages of two and 11. She brings to the network teaching and decorating experience, as well as professional writing experience.

Mealey has worked as a high school social studies teacher since leaving college nearly a decade ago. She is also the owner and decorator of The Boiler Room and The Boiler Room at The Harris, which are two restaurants located in western Maine.
