How to Liven It Up
Have your preschooler count the Cheerios as s/he strings them on the licorice. Then, once you have the necklace finished, make a game out of trying to eat the Cheerios off the necklace without using your hands.Alternate Craft Version
Make a Cheerios bracelet using either the licorice strings try using or pipe cleaners. Pipe cleaners are much easier to handle since they are stiff. For younger preschoolers, Froot Loops may work better than Cheerios since they are bigger.Safety Tip
Be sure to remove the Cheerios necklace once the Cheerios have been eaten since your preschooler may have difficulty chewing the licorice. Although the licorice will break easily, use good judgement when allowing your preschooler to wear it.
