Twenty-Two Things You Can Do with a Tissue Box

The Preschool Rock Moms Internet radio show series "The Idea Sandbox" selects one item found in the home, and in 15 minutes, the hosts of the show come up with preschool activities, crafts and games to do with that item -- off the top of their heads! On the July 6th show, Preschool Rock Moms radio show hosts came up with 22 activities, crafts and games to do with a tissue box.

The Idea Sandbox Item - Tissue Box

1. Tissue Box Car Garage, Multi-Car Garage
Cut the opening of the tissue box on one side to allow for the edge of the box to be flush with the floor when laying on one side. Decorate the outside with paints, glitter, stickers, etc.

2. Tissue Box Tidmouth Shed for Thomas the Train
Cut the opening of the tissue box on one side to allow for the edge of the box to be flush with the floor when laying on one side. Decorate the outside of each box. Then tape the fronts at either side so they tilt slightly towards each other making a semi-circle.

3. Tissue Box Photo Storage
Tissue boxes are great for storing things. Use a rectangular tissue box to store photos until you can put them into a photo album.

4. Tissue Box Pencil/Pen Holder
Use a block-style tissue box to create a great gift for mom or dad. Simply decorate the outside and give!

5. Stack 'em up Preschool Game
Take turns stacking the tissue boxes, one on top of the other, to see how high you can stack them before they fall over!

Make a cool block puzzle using your preschooler's favorite poster! Simply lay the tissue boxes on their sides or backs (depending on the type of tissue box). Then lay the poster over the top of the tissue boxes. The poster should not extend past the edges of the tissue boxes. Then cut the posted at the edges of each of the tissue boxes. Glue the poster to each tissue box, scramble the tissue boxes and you've got yourself an original block poster for hours of fun!

Decorate and color the sides of several block style tissue boxes to create learning blocks for your preschoolers.
